The events that have happened to us in the past cannot be changed, but we can control their internal representation of the memory. By changing the internal representation of the memory, we can change our emotions and feelings about the event. This in turn will change our reaction in case a similar event happens again. Thus, we can be in more control of our feelings and begin to take charge of our own life rather than living and being unsure of things about the past
The events in the future have never happened, and we could ensure that they happen, to the best of our control, the way we want them to happen, if we behave and act upon decisions made form positive representations of the world, positive beliefs, and positive outcomes. How we feel is exactly how we want to feel, we just have to ensure that we communicate it powerfully and positively, within and without ourselves
Deciding from the Future could be very helpful in laying out Plans of Action towards any positive outcome. Here’s how:
• Establish a well-formed outcome that you are passionate about
• Establish a time-line and all the internal and external parameters you can think of, for that outcome
• Close your eyes and experience how you feel right now about reaching that outcome
o Notice all the images, all the sounds, where they are coming from, how intense they are, what kind of feelings are running through you, how you are feeling them. How you are intending to respond to all that
o Make a note of what you see, hear and feel right now. On a scale of 1-10, how powerful does getting towards the outcome feel?
o Open your eyes and clear your mind of all thoughts, repeatedly wording to yourself the outcome that you seek to achieve
• Tell yourself that you have all the resources you need, tell yourself that you will create your positive future. Let us step forward in time, to when the outcome has materialized
• Now, when you think about the outcome, everything till now has happened according to your plan and every person and everything around is just as you like it to be, every aspect of that outcome has fallen in place just the right way, let’s say ‘now’ is precisely where you want to be
• When you close your eyes now, what do you see, what do you hear, what do you feel?
o Notice subtle specifics of what you hear, see and feel. Where these are coming from, how intense they are, how you are feeling the feelings you are feeling
o On a scale of 1-10 how right does having reached the outcome feel? How could you make it better?
o Exaggerate all the positive things that you See, Hear and Feel
o How powerful is it on a scale of 1-10 now? Is it at a 10/10 yet?
o Make a note of all the positive things you know that are making you be in this space
o Make a note of the things you know that you don’t know, or the things you can find out, that brought you to this space
o Make a note of the shifts you made to make this experience more positive, clearer and more powerful
o Open your eyes and get up, move around, shout out aloud, dance - change (if need be) how you are sitting/standing/lying down to a position where you feel full of energy.
• Draw out plans that would take you towards your passionate outcome, ensuring that every step is aligned with your purpose, and the experience of every step is the experience you seek to have with the outcome
• Do It. At every stage of execution, experience what you see, hear and feel then. Check if it is alignment with your purpose. Make necessary shifts to what you are doing, to feel the way you want to feel, to be powerfully drawn to the positive outcome. Do it
• You Create Your Future
